Overview:
hatch is currently working with a rapidly growing healthcare tech startup headquartered in McLean, VA.  This VC funded startup is on a mission to personalize cancer care by combining science & technology with industry leading oncologist & cancer research. Our client is looking to build out their innovative platform that offers healthcare analytics to patients and partners (hospitals, doctors, research institutions).  The need is for a Technical Lead Engineer to free up the CIO to focus on new strategic initiatives.  You will be responsible for running the day to day task of nurturing the engineering team and product backlog.  50% of your time will be heads-down programming in their tech stack (Java/Vaadin/tomcat/MySQL/AWS), interacting with users and the team, and contributing ideas to continuously improve the infrastructure for more automation.  You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, working closely with the team to help build out an infrastructure that applies continuous integration, and build automation.  The team currently consists of 4 other engineers including the CIO, so the ability to work both independently as well as collaborate with a small team will be essential.
